Before you book
Not ready to book? Find your season first
The free draping test takes a few minutes with a photo. If you want a second opinion before you pay an analyst, the automated analysis reads the same photo.
How to choose
In Swedish the service is called färganalys, and the person who does it usually calls herself a färgkonsult or färgkonsulent. Searching in Swedish finds far more studios than searching in English, so it is worth trying both. Many Swedish analysts trained with a named school and say so on their site, which makes methods easier to compare before you book.
A good session is unhurried. The analyst seats you in daylight or under daylight lamps, drapes fabric under your face and talks you through what each colour does. Ask what you take home, often a colour wallet or a printed palette, and whether a session for two or three friends is offered, which brings the price per person down. Bring a few garments you love and a few you never wear; seeing them next to the drapes makes the result easier to use afterwards.
This directory lists 23 colour analysts in Sweden, with the most in Göteborg, Malmö and Stockholm. Of these, 3 also offer sessions online. Most do not say which system they use; among those who do, 12 seasons is the most common. Published starting prices run from SEK 600 to SEK 3,490, with a median of about SEK 1,500, checked up to 11 October 2026.
Questions
What does a colour analysis cost in Sweden?
Among the 14 analysts here who publish a price, the median starting price is SEK 1,498, ranging from SEK 600 to SEK 3,490 (as of 11 October 2026). The price page splits this into in person and online.
Online or in person?
In person, the analyst holds real fabric against your skin, which is the most reliable way to judge it. Online works when you have steady window light and a camera that stays still. In Sweden, 3 of the 23 analysts listed here offer online sessions.
How should I prepare for a färganalys?
Arrive without make up, or with make up you are happy to remove, and wear a plain top. Mention dyed hair when you book. Expect a long appointment rather than a quick one; most Swedish studios give the length on their booking page.
What is the difference between 12 seasons and 16 seasons?
Both split the four classic seasons into smaller groups by how warm or cool, light or deep and clear or soft your colouring is. Sixteen seasons adds a few in between groups, which mainly helps people who sit on a border. Among analysts in Sweden who state a system, 12 seasons is the most common.
Is a färganalys in Sweden worth it compared with a free test?
A free test gives you a sound first guess at your season. A färgkonsult sees real fabric against your skin and can explain the result, which matters most if you plan to rebuild a wardrobe. You can start with our free draping test or the automated analysis and book an analyst later for a second opinion.
